Card appeared on the Warning Bulletin when transaction occurred.
This is a fraud-category code: the cardholder or their issuing bank claims the transaction was not authorized. The dispute is decided on whether you can tie the legitimate cardholder to the transaction.
Lead with proof that the cardholder participated: AVS/CVV match results, 3-D Secure authentication logs, device and IP data matching prior undisputed orders, and delivery to the cardholder's verified address. If the card was EMV-read or the transaction was fully authenticated, state the liability-shift explicitly.
You typically have 90 days from the dispute date to submit your evidence package through your payment processor. Missing the window forfeits the dispute regardless of merit, so assemble the checklist below as soon as the dispute arrives.
This code maps to MC Chargeback Guide 4807. Confirm the current wording, timing, and document requirements with your processor before submitting - networks revise their guides and your processor may impose shorter internal deadlines.
